UCD NVRL has been notified of the identification of a novel Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) variant, first detected in Finland in March 2019. As per the FSN from Hologic  (Ref FA-00095), an updated testing algorithm is now in place to ensure the recovery of this variant. Details of the revised testing strategies are included in the FSN. Please note that extra CT testing may occasionally be necessary to comply with the FSN. To date, no CT variants have been detected
