From October 2019 onwards, the NVRL will offer same day testing for HIV-1 and HCV RNA using the Cepheid GeneXpert® system.  Intended for use in urgent cases only, where a rapid result will directly affect the course of, or access to treatment, this service may be accessed following telephone consultation with a member of the NVRL clinical team.  Please note that both the HIV-1 and HCV viral load assays require 1 mL plasma for testing.
