NVRL is replacing the Fortress HEV IgM assay in favour of Diasorin Liaison XL HEV IgM assay and also introducing a supplementary second line Vidas HEV IgM assay to confirm Diasorin reactive samples.
The Diasorin and Vidas HEV IgM assays have comparable sensitivity. However, by using two assays in combination, we can generate improved specificity in comparison with Fortress HEV IgM alone, whilst also allowing for increased automation.
NVRL IT department will provide specific information including relevant test request codes.
