  • Notification: Unavoidable delays in CT/NG, TV and M.gen test results

    Reason for Notification:

    NVRL would like to apologise for delays in results for Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoea (NG), Trichomonas vaginalis (TV) and Mycoplasma genitalium (M.gen).

    These delays are as a result of instrumentation failures. NVRL is in contact with our supplier to rectify these issues as soon as possible. Testing will recommence once instruments are repaired.

  • Customer Notification: Instrumentation failures leading to extended turnaround times

    Reason for Notification:

    UCD NVRL are currently experiencing extended turnaround times in our Molecular Laboratory and would like to apologise for delays in results for samples submitted for HBV, HCV and HIV viral loads, and HCV genotype.    

    These delays are as a result of instrumentation failures. NVRL is in contact with our supplier to rectify these issues as soon as possible.

  • Customer Notification: Update to HIV Genotyping protocol at NVRL

    As of the week beginning 29/09/25, the NVRL will transition from our existing Sanger sequencing HIV GART assays to a modified protocol, utilising next generation sequencing for data acquisition.

  • Luminex NxTAG Respiratory Pathogen Panel v2

    As of 10/09/25 the NVRL will switch to the Luminex NxTAG Respiratory Pathogen Panel v2 assay for our routine respiratory screen, replacing the v1 test.  At this time, the suspension of hMPV testing (as notified 18/10/24) will be rescinded, and reporting of the full panel will recommence.  All other targets remain the same.
