Change in NVRL Hepatitis E screening: UPDATE to be introduced 28th November 2022

NVRL is replacing the Fortress HEV IgM assay in favour of Diasorin Liaison XL HEV IgM assay and also introducing a supplementary second line Vidas HEV IgM assay to confirm Diasorin reactive samples.

The Diasorin and Vidas HEV IgM assays have comparable sensitivity. However, by using two assays in combination, we can generate improved specificity in comparison with Fortress HEV IgM alone, whilst also allowing for increased automation.

NVRL IT department will provide specific information including relevant test request codes.

NVRL LIMS upgrade – some test results may be affected

Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

We are currently in the process of transitioning to a new version of our LIMS. This may lead to a delay in reporting results for the following:

Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis.

We thank you for your patience at this time and are working hard to limit any potential impact during this period.
