Change in NVRL Hepatitis E screening: UPDATE – implementation date 6th March 2023

NVRL previously notified our users that we are replacing the Fortress HEV IgM assay in favour of Diasorin Liaison XL HEV IgM assay and also introducing a supplementary second line Vidas HEV IgM assay to confirm Diasorin reactive samples.

This change was delayed due to supply issues, which have now been resolved. NVRL is very pleased to advise customers that this change will be implemented from 6^th March 2023.

Note: The Diasorin and Vidas HEV IgM assays have comparable sensitivity. However, by using two assays in combination, we can generate improved specificity in comparison with Fortress HEV IgM alone, whilst also allowing for increased automation.
