Bulletin: Service Provision at NVRL during Storm Éowyn

Due to the Status Red Weather warning this Friday, 24th of January 2025, the UCD Campus at Belfield will be closed.  As a consequence, the NVRL will remain closed until 1 hour after the Red Weather Warning period ends.

When the laboratory reopens, we will accept sample deliveries, but will only be able to provide a reduced testing service for urgent viral serology requests, and a limited service for urgent molecular requests (measles, respiratory virus screen, HBV/HCV/HIV viral load).  In addition, the out of hours service will be provided.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of these measures, but the safety of our staff has to take precedence at this time.

We will also provide limited phone support but, given the reduced number of staff onsite, we recommend primarily contacting the laboratory by email:  nvrl.admin@healthmail.ie,  nvrl.qa@healthmail.ie insofar as is possible.  Of note, these email addresses can accept patient information.
